This year, Hoërskool Florida proudly presents the fantastic production, Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat. In this way we provide the unique opportunity for all the dancers, singers and actors of the school to showcase their talents. The musical will run from 19 – 21 April in the Roodepoort Civic Theatre.
The plot of Joseph is the story of the journey the young dreamer undertakes. Joseph, one of twelve brothers, is the son of Jacob. His father gifts him a multi=coloured coat. This coat singles him out as his father’s favourite and his brothers become extremely jealous. They decide to sell him to the Egiptians as a slave. He is exiled from Canaan and taken to Egypt where he bcomes the slave and confidant of the Egyptian millionaire, Pothiphar. Potiphar’s wife takes a liking to Joseph and he lands up in jail. Whilst in jail he helps fellow inmates to analyse and unverstand their dreams. This talent draws the attention of Pharaoh and his dreams come true.
