For all the people that have followed JOZI Youth Dance Company over the years it’s seems unreal that we have reached our 10 year anniversary. 10 years have sped by!
Our Production, “10” previews at the Roodepoort Theatre on 23 April 2023. 1 show, 1 chance to see a glimpse of the last 10 years. We have 10 short snippets from over the 10 years of JYDCs existence.
We invite audiences to go back in time with us and celebrate all the beautiful, relevant, heart warming pieces that stood out over the years. The Preview will only have small pieces of what’s to come in the full production of “10” 22 June 2023- 2 July 2023. This production will be hosted by UJ Theatre as well as the Maitisong Theatre in Botswana.
More great news, due to 2023 being our 10 year anniversary, JOZI Youth Dance Company will be have 2 productions! The first being “10” as mentioned above and the second being “Cinderella” a contemporary/ballet look with a dark twist, Choreographed by Mario Gaglione. We will also have a section of Don Quixote staged in both our productions this year.
We have collaborated with Joburg Ballet and we will have guest artists from there in our productions. Our dancers will also be guesting in their productions of Romeo & Juliet.
