16th National Eisteddfod Young Performer Awards Competition
CALL FOR ENTRIES
The National Eisteddfod of South Africa® is calling for entries!
The 16th Young Performer Awards Competition will be proudly presented by the National Eisteddfod Academy from 25 February until 29 May 2019 at the Roodepoort Theatre.
R50,000 WORTH OF PRIZES TO BE WON!
Prize money to the value of R50,000 is at stake and includes the Gold medal (+R35,000 in cash), the Silver medal (+R10,000 in cash, as well as a Bronze medal (+R5000 in cash).
WERE YOU BORN TO PERFORM?
Young performers can compete live or submit a video recording** for adjudication in the following categories:
• Speech and drama
• Dance
• Classical and crossover music (vocal and instrumental)
• Contemporary music (vocal and instrumental)
CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES
Deadlines for entries are as follows:
• Early bird online entries: Sat 2 Feb 2019
• Online entries: Fri 8 Feb 2019
• Late entries: Wed 13 Feb 2019.

WHO MAY ENTER?
All recipients of diploma awards in the National Eisteddfod 2018* may enter ONLINE.
Participants in other eisteddfods or similar platforms may also enter. Proof of achievement is required for participants who participated in a similar platform to the National Eisteddfod. (See our website for more details).
NEW: Participants with 5 entries or more in the National Eisteddfod of SA® 2018 have the option to submit additional entries, over and above the ones that they have qualified for. (Terms and Conditions apply.) For more info see our website or email a request with your name, surname and unique participant to NEAAwards2019@eisteddfod.co.za.
