Niel ‘Berg returns to The Basement Theatre with his latest product “R.E.S” (Rescue. Educate. Support.) in support of the Maltese, French Poodle & Yorkie Rescue South Africa. Showcasing a brand new, never heard before set list, Niel will be performing a variety of songs ranging from evergreen classics to his sensual own compositions. Some crowd favourites include Niel’s very own Mills & Boon romance novel (in the form of a musical) entitled, “Chris, Chris & Jan” as well as Noot vir Noot and the News at 20:07. Katinka Pretorius, an accomplished mezzo soprano will also be joining Niel for the first time on stage to collaborate on various songs.
Like many other non-profit organisations, the Maltese, French Poodle & Yorkie Rescue South Africa are self-funded and dependent on the support of the community. With that in mind, we urge all to join us for a magical evening of music, laughter and in support of a wonderful cause.
The Maltese, French Poodle & Yorkie Rescue South Africa work tirelessly to achieve three main objectives. These objectives include the following:
Rescue, rehabilitate and rehome surrendered and needy Maltese and French Poodles, Yorkies, Poodle and Yorkie crosses and honorary Poodles across South Africa with people who are passionate about the breed, through networking, referrals and a fostering and rehoming programme.
Educate the public about the breeds, their needs, the importance of spaying and neutering in the effort to prevent unwanted puppies from being abandoned or abused, and the risks associated with breeding, as well as the risks of buying animals from the internet and pet shops, by providing a resource library of fact sheets and articles.
Support Poodle and Yorkie owners across the country by providing a forum where they can ask other Poodle and Yorkie lovers questions or share concerns without fear of prejudice.
Join us and make a difference!
A cash bar will be available for the duration of the show and guests can pre-order meals and platters from the Stages Restaurant by contacting them at 011 674 1356.
